Known in Gĩkũyũ language as Inoorero rĩa Ũtuĩria wa Ũrĩmi wa Gũtũũrithia, the Inoorero Conservation Agricultural Research Institute derives its name from Gĩkũyũ homestead whetstone yard, a communal place where family tools are sharpened.
Inoorero Agricultural Research Institute offers agricultural training to smallholder farmers and visiting and resident students through Harakati ya Kilimo-Uhifadhi's ten core development initiatives.
